Sweet and Spicy Chili Meatballs

Oh dear my last post was march 12th! Its been a while, life has taken over my life!

I had some recipes to post but I lost pictures do to technology breaking,

so the blog was on hold for a bit.

No worries we are back in business, Picture taking is happening, who wants a blog with no pictures? 

This recipes is zippy chili in a meatball on top of a yam saucer. 

They don’t take long to make and are tender and savory. 




Meat balls

  • 2 lb ground beef

  • 1 yams(baked or microwaved)



  • 1/2 onion

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3 tbsp garlic

  • 3 tbsp tomato paste

  • 3 or 4 tbsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika



  • 2 yams

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/4 coconut flower

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • dash of garlic




  • Microwave the three yams till soft(about 12 minutes, 6 each side)

  • Let cool and set aside

  • Dice up your onion

  • place onion in skillet on stove and caramelize with oil

  • In a bowl place eggs, and spices and whisk together

  • Peel yam you should be able to peel it off with your fingers

  • Place yam in bowl and mash it into the egg and spices mix it well I suggest using a fork

  • Place ground beef and onions in the bowl and mash it all together

  • Set aside

  • Peel your other two yams and place them into a separate bowl

  • Add in eggs, salt, garlic, and coconut flour

  • Mash with a fork till well mixed

  • Take a large baking sheet, line it with foil, and lightly oil it

  • Take a bit of your yam mix and form a saucer about 3 to 4 inches wide and 1/2 and inch thick on your baking sheet

  • Repeat until yam saucers are complete

  • Form meatballs and place them on top of saucers

  • Place in oven

Bake at 375ºF for 30 min
